"The greatest healing therapy is friendship and love."  - Hubert Humphrey

Compassion in Motion

Believe it or not, I started out as an Engineering Major in college.  I was a left brained, systems focused, make it work more efficiently driven, thinker.
Obviously, there was a fork in the road, because now I would describe myself as more of a feeler than a thinker.  I see efficiency more in terms of ease and joy than speed and productivity.   Although at times I may still fire with the left side, logical part of my brain, when it comes to therapy, it’s the right side, intuitive part of my being that runs the show.

I have been a practicing Occupational Therapist for almost 15 years.  I specialize in stroke and brain injury treatment.  I also have advanced training in Myofascial Release, by John F. Barnes.  I have seen patients ranging from 3 to 103.  I’ve seen patients in trauma centers and their homes.  I have seen patients that were going to make a complete recoveries, and patients that were learning to live life in different ways.

However, no matter how many patients I see the one thing I know is every patient is different.  Although illnesses, injuries, and even situations may be the same, no two people or pains are the same.  Everyone is unique.  I think it takes a special kind of arrogance to make a person a number, their pain a treatment code.  I believe the best I have to offer is a human to human approach.   My goal as a therapist is to meet you where you are, provide support, facilitate healing, and get you back to your life.

So, if getting back to your life is your goal too, we could have a powerful partnership.  Let’s connect, talk, and explore what I can do to help you heal.
